Dr. Ram Anil Raj. M.R. is an energetic cardiologist working as a Senior Consultant Cardiologist. Born in the mango city of Tamil Nadu, Salem, started his medical education at the prestigious Madras Medical College in 1997. He did his postgraduation in Internal Medicine at one of the best centers of higher education in India / Asia – Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh (PGIMER). He specialized himself in the field of Cardiology at Lakshmi Pati Singhania (LPS) Institute of Cardiology, Kanpur, one of the oldest centers to give cardiology care in Northern India. He has lots of experience in teaching MBBS, MD, and DM students at various places. He is academically interested and attended various forums on cardiology and presented papers in national and international forums. In the field of invasive cardiology, he has good experience in performing radial/ femoral angiograms, angioplasties (primary/ elective), permanent (DDD/ VVI), and temporary pacemaker insertion and performing percutaneous transmitral valvotomy. He has worked in major corporate hospitals in Bengaluru (Apollo Hospital, Bannerghatta Road, Sheshadripuram), and BGS Global Hospitals, Bengaluru). During his tenure at BGS Global Hospital, he assisted in performing two heart transplants under the guidance of Dr Yogesh Kothari, Senior Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist, and Dr Thasee Pillai, Senior Cardiac Transplant surgeon. He assisted in the first case of TAVI in BGS Global Hospital in 2017 along with Dr Ravinder Rao. He along with Dr Yogesh Kothari performed the first intravascular lithotripsy (IVL) in Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, Bengaluru. In the field of non-invasive cardiology, he is well experienced in doing echocardiograms of newborn and complex congenital heart disease and in doing dys-synchrony tests in cases of dilated cardiomyopathy for CRT. In the field of preventive cardiology, he has given lectures to common public regarding the awareness of cardiac disease and its preventive aspects. He is academically active in teaching MD, and DM postgraduates in various hospitals in Bengaluru with lots of publications to his name
